Tarja Mottram Speaks at ASAP Global Alliance Summit
Andover, MA – February 1, 2011 – In today’s economy companies must become nimble in forming and moving in and out of key business relationships in order to succeed. The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP), a leading global professional association dedicated to alliance formation and management, featured Tarja Mottram, CEO of Action for Results, Inc. (AfR), at its annual Global Alliance Summit in Atlanta, Georgia, January 31-February 3, 2011. Ms. Mottram shared her expertise in a seminar entitled, The Project Management and Alliance Management Debate: Defining Boundaries and Managing the Interface.
According to AfR Marketing Director Janice Laskey, “If companies are to thrive in the current economic climate, strategic alliances are critical. Additionally, these relationships must be properly understood and managed.
“In her interactive session, Tarja addressed the important distinctions between project management and alliance management—responsibilities, measures of success and necessary skills. She also drew upon real-life examples and existing models to explore how program and alliance managers work together to meet the objectives of an alliance. The session was tailor-made to support the conference’s theme ‘Mastering the Art & Science of Alliance’ and attendees walked away with valuable insight,” concluded Laskey.
Ms. Mottram is a sought after speaker on alliance building and management, portfolio management, customer-focused product and service development, and project effectiveness. She’s worked with clients across the globe, helping to connect their portfolio strategy and execution in order to enhance product development, decision making and productivity. Additionally, Ms. Mottram serves as an advisory board member for Brandeis University’s Master of Science in Management of Projects and Programs and maintains membership in several industry organizations including BioPharmaPM, Drug Information Association, Project Management Institute and Product Development and Management Association.
